Receptionist
We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist to cover part time two days on our Reception and also provide administrative support to HR, Finance and other areas of the business as required throughout the remainder of the working week.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and welcome visitors.
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls, promptly passing them through to the relevant personnel or department.
  • Ensure the presentation of the Reception Area, the Waiting Area and the Visitor Parking are of a high calibre, clean and tidy and accessible.
  • Ensure incoming mail is passed onto relevant Departments promptly and ensure all outgoing mail is franked and collected.
  • Producing, filing and retrieving correspondence of business documentation as and when required using the Company’s software packages.
  • Support various areas of the business with administration provision.


Requirements and Experience
  • An excellent telephone manner is essential.
  • A smart appearance.
  • Proven previous experience in an administration role with an excellent attention to detail and working to strict deadlines.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Word.
  • A high degree of communication skills for internal and external customers at all levels whilst maintaining confidentiality when required.
  • Confidentiality is essential.
  • Firm, polite and confident approach when dealing with people.

Credit Control Assistant
The above vacancy has arisen in our Finance Department to join a busy team within Abacus. This is a full time role which will assist the Credit Manager with effective debt collection of Customer accounts and also be interactive with the Finance Team with regards to other aspects of Financial Reporting..

Duties and Responsibilties
  • Cash entry onto sales ledger including marking up of retentions.
  • Collection of overdue debts via telephone, fax, letter and email.
  • Daily collation of incoming cheques and preparing for bank paying-in.
  • Production of manual resale invoices.
  • Production of sales invoices, credit notes and pro forma invoices.
  • Production and mailing of Customer monthly statements by post and email.
  • Investigation of sales order details when queries are raised.

Vocational Requirements and Experience
  • Proven previous experience in Credit Control environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Word.
  • Experience of SAP relating to a Finance function.
