THE CHALLENGE
The schools hockey pitch already had an existing floodlighting system in place manufactured and installed by Abacus, However, they were after an LED alternative to reduce operational costs/maintenance fees and minimise any environmental impact.
THE SOLUTION
The solution involved retrofitting the existing masts with energy-efficient Challenger 1 LED floodlights, which not only provided better illumination but also significantly reduced energy consumption by 42%, leading to substantial cost savings for the school.
The new LED floodlighting system provided brighter and more uniform illumination, enhancing safety and visibility during evening activities. LED floodlights also have a longer lifespan compared to traditional lighting, which means lower maintenance costs and fewer disruptions for the school.
By retaining the existing masts, the project minimised its environmental footprint and demonstrated a commitment to sustainability.
